Since I wrecked my car just prior to my PCS, can I use my travel card to pay for a rental car so I can get to my new duty station on time?

Ok so long story short my only car was backed into and I cannot drive it currently. I am supposed to pcs in just under a week. So my question is will my government travel card (already turned and and set to pcs mode or whatever it’s called) pay for a rental car for me to get there while my wife stays behind waiting for the repairs to finish on our car?

That would be a very, very bad mistake and very expensive mistake to repay.
If you know you can't make your PCS date then you need to immediately apply for a deferment. If you can't afford to fix the car, apply for an AER Loan.

It is not likely that you will be covered for two cars through your travel authorization. As stated, check with your insurance, they should provide a rental during repair. Their may be a point where your car is repaired and you turn in the rental having your sponsor gettingvyou to key appointments until your spouse arrives with your car. Or you eat the cost of the rental at that point provided you have no other solution. Thank you for your service.

You cannot use your government travel card to pay for a rental car. You are PCSing not going on a TDY. Rental cards are not authorized for reimbursement for a PCS move. Contact your insurance company and/or check what kind of coverage you’ve been paying for.
