Since my gear is still in Poland, is there a memo template I can use to clear CIF so that I can ETS?

My gear is still in Poland but I have an ETS date of 6 Feb, there’s no scheduled transportation of my gear back to the states. Is there a memo template I can use to clear CIF. I’m at Ft Hood if that helps.

You better contact your unit to see if they can ship it back to you so you can turn it in. Otherwise, a MFR AND a FLIPL will probably need to be initiated. Why did you leave your gear behind?

I never went I packed my gear in the connex then found I had tumors on my lungs so stayed in the rear and happened to hit ETS

SGT (Join to see) - Oh....well, that certainly is a horse of a different color. Yea, you are gonna need to get a hold of your forward element and see if they can expedite shipping your stuff back ASAP. FT Hood CIF might not be so friendly. But, you could also hit them up to see what they say and see if they have a memo template. Still, an MFR and FLIPL is probably gonna happen.

SGT, why in the world would you leave your Gear in Poland? Im sure you knew you were going to ETS when you left. This just doesn't pass the common sense test.

MSG (Join to see) - hahaha. thats hilarious. it never ceases to amaze me, that these Soldiers don't have accountability for their stuff, then want an easy way out. This will be a flipl and his final pay may not be so much.

I smell a FLIPL/Statement of Charges...CIF is going to want all that you owe back. It would be slightly different if you were PCSing.

For those tat come into this issue in the future a local FLIPL through your S4 will solve the CIF issue.

Get with your Rear Det leadership (Sq Ldr, PSG, 1SG, etc to get the officer leadership involved) if your unit went to Poland and took your gear that you signed for. Someone is going to have to take responsibility for the gear. You need this stuff in writing, FLIPL, etc. CIF doesn’t care and will charge you for this if it now ends up missing in Poland and you don’t have any supporting documentation relieving you of ownership of responsibility for this gear.

Did you do an inventory of the equipment? Is there a listing of it on the container documentation?
