I saw a post on here that stated most of the KKK is comprised of police officers. “Blue during the day, white at night” was the statement. I would like an answer from police officers to this question. I found it very insulting. It’s like people today that were never slaves blaming people that have never been a slave owner. We can’t change the past but we can work toward a better future for all.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
I was on the job for 16 years.
The left wants people to believe that all cops are shit. Except the FBI. You're not allowed to question the FBI since the left controls them.

Cpl Rosemarie SantaAnna - I'm not sure how being a descendant of Mexican grandparents is relevant, but congratulations anyways.
I'll copy my post for you so you can read my questions....
"A good percentage" huh?
What exactly is "a good percentage?"
Do you have any facts to back up your assertion or are you just copying leftist talking points?
(profile, doubt and their belief of skin) - I have no idea what you mean here.
"The Brother mentality of unity" - are you saying that good cops won't turn in bad cops? Is that from your years of experience on the force or again, just leftist talking points?
Not sure if you're keeping up on current events, but Trump (45) isn't in office anymore. Hasn't been for quite some time. And America is much more divided now that when Trump was in office, thanks to the democratic party.
"white Race Deny’s Racism exist" - again, no idea what you're trying to get across here. White people are denying racism exists? Is that what you're saying?

I, being a retired police officer, can speak with personal experience. The "Blue during the day, white at night" statement is bunk! Common sense would definitely support this. This would have to be an extremely well kept secret and we all know that the more people sharing a secret, the less secure it is. I would not have tolerated such an environment nor would my friends including the black police officers I worked with. I will concede that there are a few "badge heavy" police with a lack of compassion that I feel is required but far from an organized KKK membership. The posted statement is an insult to my profession and me.

A good cop does not stand by and watch a bad cop break the law. Silence is complicity. In my own discipline we policed each other. Lives were at stake for bad behavior. One bad apple reflected on us all. A good cop does not look the other way. There seems to be way too many examples that they do just that. That does your profession little good in the public eye. Heal thyself.

PV2 Barry Holmes You can’t really prove a negative, but you can prove a positive. Where is the proof, of any actual sort, that the statement “blue by day, white by night” is in any way reflected in reality? Not just made up stories of American police attending secret KKK meeting in any numbers, but what actual empirical evidence exists? In my 18 years of policing after the Army, I heard TWO comments by white officers that could be considered “racist” and completely out of line. Both times those officers were tuned up by other white cops. The vast majority of police in the US just want to end their shift with their butts still attached to their bodies, and they know from being on the job for a while that their victims and suspects comic in all colors. A racist cop WILL fail as a cop in very short order.

While what t you say may be true, one should remember Shakespear's fine words. "Lillies that fester smell far worse than weeds." Cops are there to uphold the law, not break it.
I have worked in organized labor most of my adult life and am a strong believer in organized labor. However, police unions have far too much power over the folks who supposed to police the police. Hence the millions of our tax dollars that go to folks who have been wronged by the police. The mayors, council members and the police chiefs don't pay for cop misbehavior, we all do. When I say nothing against wrong, I am complicit is that wrong. I shall stand by those words until shown otherwise.

I am not here to be an apologist for organized labor. I have always considered them a necessary evil. My issue here is with the lack of leadership and control over police behavior. They have, in general, the reputation they have earned over the years. If they have a problem with trust, then they should address it. My own discipline never turned a blind eye to unsafe practices. We addressed them and maintained strict rules of behavior... The police need oversight by an outside element, something with the real power to regulate. What we have now isn't working. Being a cheerleader for cops is a bit late. That horse left the barn long ago. More so with minorities... I shall defend the cops on one issue. It is little wonder cops are so fast to shoot to kill. In culture of guns and more guns, I can well understand their plight. I suspect I would be the same in today's environment. But these Uvalde, Texas incidences don't make cops look as if they are cutting it.
