Took leave all last month with the confirmation that my clearing papers would be ready for me when I got back today. They were not, I now have six days starting tomorrow to clear the installation and get my family to our next duty station overseas. Should I type up my own DA Form 137-2 or wait and see?

You need to just go to your Career Counselor and get a 30 day deferment. In the future, when you're thinking that you should just walk away from something high stress and time sensitive and that it will be perfectly fine when you return a month later.... Don't. This was not a failing on your unit or your post, this was 100% a failing on you because of your choices.

All the information you need to initiate your clearing appointment should be in your levy brief. If you don't have a copy, you need to contact your reassignment section. It's not actually hard to clear most posts, and you can probably clear it in two days. But if you haven't received your post clearing papers it's almost certain there is some critical step you missed.

It doesn't help now, but usually people take leave AFTER they clear the installation.
That being said, clearing most posts doesn't take that long, especially if they pre-clear you well. At worst you put in a 30 day deferment 4187 signed by your BN CDR and get an extra month...

SGT (Join to see) right, that's why you finish clearing the day your PCS leave starts. So you take 29 days PCS leave which starts 29 days before your report date, and then the 10 days before leave starts is clearing.

CW2 (Join to see) right now because of COVID nobody is authorized to take PCS leave if they're going OCONUS. But it's still a terrible idea to just take off a month and not follow up on everything

I found out what happened this past week.
Installation SOP states that only Battalion S1 can request your clearing papers, I was told that the request was sent in the middle of May. While clearing at the Unit level, S1 let it slip that they never actually sent up the request. I ended up getting them on Thursday and after a Covid Screening, I can get my final out stamp Monday and be gone.
Thanks for the Help Gentleman, Greatly appreciated.

Don’t trust anyone but yourself when it comes to getting paperwork like clearing papers. Normally you yourself has to go and sign for your clearing papers usually 10 civilian working days before you PCS. You can get it done less time.
