It seems we've started combat operations in Syria. More interestingly Jordan and !!QATAR!! are also flying sorties along side us aviation assets. The UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia is also contributing. Notably absent is any European support. What are your thoughts?

It is also noticeable that all these countries are Sunni.

I think those countries are doing it more out of self-preservation. If ISIS continues unchecked, guess who is next? Jordan, then Kuwait, then Saudi Arabia, and so own. It's hard for the pampered sheiks and princes to live opulently when a fundamentalist wants to cut off your head.....

Indeed, I think that is a shift caused by the Arab spring. The establishment knows now that supporting radical Islam is offering their own necks. It is why they were so quiet during the latest Gaza kinetics.

My question is: do any of the NATO countries HAVE any assets with legs long enough to reach and return? It may well be a logistics issue. I believe I opined in a previous thread of similar content that the U.S. would most likely provide the logistics .... I'm still saying so.

Indeed. NATO is a paper tiger.
