The Bottom Line Up Front. Well here are a few reasons:
1. Change. Because Army Aviation is undergoing a rapid and vital reorganization. You should know about restructuring initiatives.
2. Financial. Because over $7.3 Billion of the Army’s base and wartime budget was focused on Army Aviation Systems in 2014; also over $29 Billion is planned for Army Aviation Systems investment from 2015-19. You should know about the Army’s investment priorities and how they are forced to make do with less because of our nation’s strategy to resources mismatch.
3. Relevance. Because Army Aviation Systems are absolutely vital for the defense of the United States and our Allies. More so today than ever. Vital today and arguably the single most important defense need over the next 30 years considering the evolving nature of conflict.

... so if you do care about national defense and the future of our Army, you should travel to Nashville to the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA)-sponsored Mission Solutions Summit (March 29-April 1, 2015).

On a previous post, someone noted/lamented about the low level of involvement in professional organizations such as AUSA, AAAA, etc. Get involved. One of the startling realizations many retirees have upon separation is that their ability to affect change in the Army isn't the same on the outside. Well, you can say whatever you want about the "Army for Life" campaign but one thing is for sure... you have to have your head in the game. Continue to serve. Are you interested? Do you care?

I hope you're interested. http://www.quad-a.org/2015summit/images/pdf_forms/2015Summit_PressRelease_020615.pdf

We could not do half of what we do in the current conflicts without aviation. Whether its moving personnel, cargo, casualities or putting steel on target, it happens more effectively from the air. Aviation is and will continue to be the tip of the spear for all conflicts around the world.
