Team, I have a Soldier in Japan who was unable to bring his family due to EFMP. Now about a year later, due to family stresses his wife is thinking about divorcing him. To try to keep his family together he put in a request for a compassionate reassignment. Although that process was lengthy, it was ultimately approved. Now he is on assignment, but his wife has made the decision to divorce him. Orders have yet to be cut. Is it possible for him to get his assignment deleted?

The Soldier can call compassionate reassignment branch and request to cancel it. That will have to happen today because compassionate reassignment report dates are usually within 45 dates of the orders being issued. Whether or not the physical orders have been cut is irrelevant, HRC did their part in placing the SM on the assignment and now Levy just has to put them together and issue them.

Even divorced I would think he would like being closer to his kids.
