[Answer] For the Air Force at least, AFI 36-2903 has a visual list of common medals in 11.5. Would still be great to have a website that could build you a ribbon rack based on what branch you're in.

[Original Question] Does anyone know of a comprehensive program, website, or publication that states how to wear medals from two different branches? My husband is prior Navy (enlisted) and is planning to commission into the Air Force. We are curious what ribbons he will still be able to wear.

Are some ribbons not allowed to be worn together (i.e. Navy Good Conduct and Air Force Good Conduct)? Do any of them get replaced with your current service's ribbon equivalent (such as Marksman, Commendation, or Achievement medals) ?

Thanks very much!

Ah, thanks for pointing that out to me. I recalled reading the "Air Force awards take precedence over equal awards from other Services" but was unsure whether that meant to replace or simply wear above... I did not realize they had a visual list of all the common ones.
