They say character is apparent when no one is looking so I would say yes, it definitely makes a huge impact in who I vote for.

Right to know? Interesting question. When they put themselves in the arena for public office, they should also be on notice that their "private" life is fair game, IMHO. For me, that was one of the deciding factors in this last election. I have read considerably on Hillary Clinton, and her public persona vice her "private" persona were diametrically opposed, especially her attitudes towards the military and veterans. So for me, it is definitely something I want to know.

I think people ought to have a personal and private life; however, when I do hear of bad personal decisions, it does effect my opinion of those individuals.
