The hardest part of being an EOD Tech is leaving the relative safety of the "safe area", or the up-range area of an EOD incident. Some EOD folks are trying to give back to the injured and surviving family of EOD members by raising money by, now get this, riding across the US on motorcycles in BOMB SUITS! Read all about it.

Freakin Awesome!
I shared the FB link for this to my "VFW Post 9972" (Gratuitous plug) FB page as we do have a number of riders and enthusiasts in the area that may want to play escort with him up to San Diego! Maybe we could push for more escorts here in RP? Just a thought. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for sharing TSgt David L., our EOD Techs are combat multipliers at home station and especially during combat operations. Two of the companies within the BN are 702 EOD & 720 EOD, full of professionals that continuously put the safety of others in front of themselves.

Thanks for the good words about our brothers and sisters CSM Michael J. Uhlig. The entire career field in all 4 services handle themselves in the same way. It's hard to find a group of more motivated and hard chargers who volunteer to run towards the danger. I enjoyed my nearly 23 years and wouldn't change much of anything.

I always heard the "Long Walk" as a reference to a certain month long selection in the mountains of West Virginia. . . Interesting to here it as an EOD reference too.
