Last time I contacted my unit at Fort Campbell (Blanchfield) I spoke to a sergeant that assigned me a sponsor and told me that they would contact me the next day. Yet I was never contacted by whoever my sponsor is. What am I suppose to do whenever I fly out to my unit?

You have a few options, you can contact the unit again and ask for the 1SG and explain you are a new incoming Soldier and ask for his assistance in getting a sponsor, you can contact the replacement BN at Campbell and also ask for a sponsor assistance and contact information as each unit is supposed to have sponsorship contacts supplied to the installation replacement elements, or you can contact the BN HQs element and do the same as well asking for sponsorship assistance, it may seem to be stepping on toes, but you are doing what is necessary for you as a new Soldier coming to a new unit to help better prepare you to integrate and be acclimated to the unit.

SPC (Join to see), SFC James Baber is absolutely right. 1SG and the Replacement BN should get you plugged in with the right folks inside your new unit. Another approach you can take is with some of the on-post helping agencies. Seems weird, but when you walk into a place like the education office or MWR, there's usually a civilian or veteran working there who wants nothing more than to help a young soldier out. These folks know more about living in the local area than just about anyone in the Screaming Eagles...
