My company is allowing us to dress for Halloween this Friday. Would it be wrong or aginst regulations if I were to wear my ACU's?

Yes. don't wear the Uniform on Halloween. just to clarify,Neil, it's a scenario with very little upside. You become a target for any bonehead drunk on the street and in this camera phone gotcha media circus, what we do is not as important as what we are perceived to be doing. Any other day, yes. Halloween, is a no-go IMO.

Just so everyone knows, I just talked to my CO. He's said that just as long as it doesn't bring disrespect to the uniform or the Army, he don't see a problem with it.

Times have changed but I seem to remember that if you are in uniform, you are representing the United States of America so maybe not a good idea.

Halloween is a time to dress up in a costume. If you are a soldier then it's not a costume, it's your work uniform. Why would you dress up as what you are?

Ignore my previous comment. I hadn't read that your CO gave you the "okay".

Technically, you can do it, but it would probably be frowned upon by some. Does your unit have a policy regarding non-duty wear of the uniform?

I agree 1st Sgt Jim S. Spend a little money on a costume because any number of bad things could happen with you being in uniform. It is better to err on the side of caution.

Wearing the uniform out in pubic makes you a target. Whether you want it to or not it does. So if you are ready to deal with the repercussions of being a target then by all means. However, I agree with Top in saying bad choice.

Is this halloween party on post or off post? If it is on post I do not see any issue unless you were told to not wear your acu s there.

So you basically want to just dress like you normally would, I don't think is wrong or against regulations, how ever if you will dress as a Soldier remember to also wear our 7 values. You will not only wear the uniform but you will be representing our army, your self, and our nation so be mindful of what you do and how you act

Hmm. Tough call. I've always had to work in Halloween, so I'm stuck in my uniform whether I want to be or not. Wearing it by choice is the last thing on my mind. I'd rather go as Darth Vader or something lol.

That's how I accidently joined the Army. I showed up to a Halloween party in a uniform and it turned out ti was BCT...man was I surprised...

But really why? Be a whorish queen of hearts or a Sexy Pirate wench instead.
