A STUDY OF PHYSICAL COURAGE AMONG MILITARY PERSONNEL AND VETERANS

Not much research has been conducted to explain why people perform acts of physical courage - that is, why people put their own safety at risk in order to save others from physical harm. As active duty military personnel or a veteran, your past experiences and voice are valued resources for this research and we believe that you could significantly help expand our knowledge about this important aspect of human strength.

We are researchers at Palo Alto University requesting participation from English-speaking active duty military personnel and veterans, ages 21 or older. Bruce Bongar, PhD, Laurie Black, Uri Kugel, Kasie Hummel, Lori Holleran, and David Giannini are conducting this study. Results will be used to improve our understanding of physical courage among military personnel.

As a research participant, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your personal history and experiences during your military service. Your individual responses will be kept completely confidential. Participation in this study will take approximately 20 minutes. If you are interested in participating, please use this link to the survey: http://www.greenpsycho.com/courage/
