Good article, 1SG James L Vetter. I have mentioned a couple times here on RallyPoint that networking is not just about numbers (quantity), but really more about the quality of the relationship. Casual or online only contacts are not anywhere near as likely to recommend for a job or provide a job lead, as real, face-to-face, established contacts. There's no denying that.

This post ties in rather nicely with your link to the Auto-Correct Humanity video. Both are good. I especially enjoyed the video, though.

It is interesting though that many employers research Linked-In, FaceBook, and a number of other social media sites to see what if anything prospective candidates have posted and the types of groups and discussions they are a part of...
