So...I always draw a blank...what in anyone's opinion would be an appropriate response to such a statement? I always make things awkward lol

Does it ever feel uncomfortable for you when people thank you for your service?
I do understand that all they are doing is trying to show their appreciation. But, I have developed anxiety issues due to my service. I find it very uncomfortable when strangers approach me, even to thank me for my service. Usually it is when I am out with my family. Sometimes they will get between me and my child or approach me while I am eating or interrupt me while I am in the middle of something. Am i the only one that feels this way?
