The Chinese want gun control in the United States....do you?

The Chinese state-controlled Media is calling for gun control in the US. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that. Personally, my first thought is that if our Government keeps growing our debt to China, it would sure make calling in those markers easier for a country that surely must run out of real estate one of these days.

That's exactly why I brought it up....I can't imagine any other reason why someone would want gun control in another country. Especially a country that provides the bulk of their sales of crappy AK's and SKS's.

An armed populace are citizens. An unarmed populace are subjects....
I bet China and a few other countries would love to see an unarmed American society. It would make the take over of the Country much easier for them. As was allegedly quoted by one of Japan's best Admirals, "You can not invade the mainland United States. There is a rifle behind every blade of grass."
Come to think of it, I believe there are a few politicians in Washington who would love to see an unarmed populace for the same reason.....

In our doctrine for sniper defeat, there are three classifications of this combatant type.
-The trained sniper: we may not have that many of them, but they're world class and damn good.
-The trained marksman: he could be an SDM, talented sport shooter, or successful hunter. We have millions of this type of shooter. This is probably what our enemies worry about most.
-The armed irregular: this could be anyone with a half decent rifle, and little or no training. These are relatively ineffective until they gain training or experience. The US would spawn even more millions of these should someone attempt invasion. Eventually some really talented shooters will come from this classification. Remember, there are more gun in the United States in private ownership, than people.
This is why they want gun control here. To mitigate a threat that cannot be ignored on the strategic or tactical level.

Given the sheer amount of gun violence in the US, I'd have to imagine every other country on the planet wants gun control in the US... Someone has to think sensibly, even if we won't...

Amount of gun violence is over played by liberal media. Yes it happens, unfortunate. What is not covered is the amount crime reduction by an armed citizen. That happens more often and is not often reported because the perp left the scene or the cops showed up and made an arrest. with cops showing for the arrest they wont give credit to the citizen, they get the credit for the FBI data base and federal funding.

I would not be surprised if the real reason would be to one day to try an invasion. After all Germany invaded a country, demanded gun registration lists OR registering guns only to have the weapons confiscated real quick. That was one of several reasons that the people of Germany were not able to mount a successful overthrow of Hitler.
To quote Jorge Agustin Nicolas Ruiz de Santayana y Botha's, "Those who forget the past, are condemned to repeat it".
Hopefully we will never forget the past.
