Organize. Join Veterans For Peace, Iraq veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Pax Christi USA, Fellowship Of Reconciliation and/or any of the other religious peace organizations.

Money is not a good enough reason. Look at the theory of the Hierarchy of Needs. Strangely enough look at MLK jr.s 3 evils - Racism, Extreme Materialism and Militarism. Can we get rid of state-sanctioned war like we got rid of state-sanctioned slavery?

Generations of division, anger about oppression, subversion, virulent jihadist hatred of Jews, the prolonged indoctrination of anti-semitism, and a culture which supports violence will likely make it impossible for peace to become a reality. Why? Because neither side will take the steps necessary to end violence. No truces last there so there is no trust.

CPT (Join to see) It's a shame they can't get past all of that. Look at the economic factors that could prevail if they could find a way to exist together. The dollars are off the chart on what this has cost both sides. How many dollars have we as a nation put into this process to broker the peace? We as human beings waste a lot of energy on the wrong things.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Sir there was a time when Christians, Muslims, and Jews lived there in peace together but I doubt we will ever see this come to be again. The Six Day War and all that happened in the immediate time after ended any chance of that ever happening again. Both sides celebrate it but in different ways on one side it is celebrated as a victory and on the other at Es Samu to honor the dead. It is a shame so many died and continue to die.
