I know the news says the economy is recovering, but its hard to see when your salary doesn't go up while the cost of all items do. Now getting word that companies are starting layoffs again. What do you think will turn the economy back around and save jobs for all Americans?

Fire Congress, nullify the FTAs, stop outsourcing American infrastructure to foreign owned corporations.

Until our "public servants" (the Government) start making the "public" their #1 priority instead of their hidden agendas, it will be difficult for the economy to turn around.

That's easy. Fire all 546 members of the government then elect good honest people into office who will first pass a term limits bill, then pass a repeal for the vast majority of laws. Once government gets out of the way of the people , then and ONLY then will the economy start to grow.

I work for a company that outsourced for a very short time before they realized what was going on with job and unhappy customers service complaints. I love my country and very proud to have served in the Army to protect her, but congress and presidents alike have to stop fighting each other for party rights and think of the people. Let them have to us the new healthcare system and make minimum wage for awhile I would think each one would take a little more time to listen to the people then.

The problem is that the metrics they use to calculate inflation do not include many items like food, and  fuel costs so while prices go up the government reports that inflation does not exist.

The easiest way to fix the problem is to reduce regulation and make it easier for people to start their own businesses, The US according to a ranking of economic freedom fell out of the top 10 this year to number 12 this year. It ranks countries based on stability, corruption, ease of starting businesses. The people keep forgetting that our greatest asset was the freedom of the individual to find ways to improve their quality of life. This focus on "equality of income" will do nothing to improve our lives and actually continue to decline the quaity of life for everyone.

Some days I think population control may become necessary. There can only realistically be so many jobs. When there are more people than jobs, of COURSE it's going to seem like there's a problem with the economy. I think we are confusing the symptoms for the illness.

I can agree with that SSG Michael I have said the same for years, but I actually read and article that stated we need to grow the population to make the economy grow. Seems to me that is backwards since there are suppose to be so many hungry and homeless and no work.
