Are you sure you aren't referencing a Duffle Blog article? Is this the "Toxic" pool you mean?

"WASHINGTON — Hundreds of soldiers who were stationed at Camp Arifjan over the last decade are set to receive Purple Hearts due to their exposure to dangerous levels of chlorine at the base swimming pool, Pentagon officials report."

SGT Jennie Washington - When most people see an article that is too crazy to believe, the first response is usually to see if it is from the Duffle Blog or from the Babylon Bee. If it is, you can safely disbelieve it and just enjoy the laugh (although the stories do have a grain of truth in them).

I have an Air Force retired (Cpt. Nurse) who now works for the VA come to my house once a month to check on me. Maybe you should get a Purple Heart if you suffered medically over burn pits. She told me about a Nurse who was awarded a Bronze Star for teaching Afghan women to play volleyball. She was disgusted as I was.

I was at Arifjan. What toxic pool do you speak of? Purple Hearts are not given for this. If someone got one for exposure, then someone pencil whipped documents and went against the regulations. AR 600-8-22.

That sounds like some urban legend stuff right there. Purple Hearts are awarded for injuries, not for being exposed to possibly injurious conditions

If toxic pools (whatever that is) warranted a Purple Heart, then every Vet in the last three wars, including peace keeping and peace enforcement operations would be awarded as would this exposed to agent orange and burn pits would have one. I don’t think that is a thing, nor will it ever.

What do you mean regarding "Who do I contact?" ... Contact about what? Did the individual lose the Purple Heart and needs to have it replaced? Do you want to know what the citation read? Do you want to know the process it went through?

I googled your inquiry and the only thing I found was a duffel blog article. Where are you getting your information?

SGT Jennie Washington - Duffel Blog is a satire sit where they cook up fictional stories. Similar to the Onion and other popular satire news sources

Not as far fetched as you might imagine. I received a PH in VN that could have been for the blood coming out of my ears. Although more than likely for the shrapnel and burns on my arms and legs.

If this article is true, then why not all the service people exposed to all toxic chemicals. Agent Orange, the 60' thru 80's exposure plane external cleaner. There are several other places and substances that won't be known until we die in some cases. Camp Lejeune toxic drinking water, El Toro airbase that ended up being a super fund toxic site. What about children of service members which have found to have genetic connections to all these chemicals. Or are we waiting for the second head to form for them.

PLEASE LORD JESUS! HASHEM, BUDDAH, MUHAMMED, AND ALL GODS!
Tell me that you are not contemplating seeking (or having the huevos) to have your PSNCO & or Commander (because this fugaisey request will grace his desk before his "right-hand night" at the post community club or Armory Bar) concurrence for the Purple Heart For Toxic Pool Water????
When I (and my two (2) NCOs were hit with rocket fire in Iraq, we were hesitant to THINK of the Combat Action Badge. Upon our return to CONUS, our CG (Commanding General) asked me what Super Bowl I earned my ring in! I explained that my Commander (and now his Chief of Staff) would not approve of any CABS (because he was a FOBIT and did not get one!) Therefore, I designed and purchased three (3) rings with the schrapnel that went into our vehicle and gave them to my NCOs to give to their kids one day. I had a satellite photo of the attack and the CG awarded us the CABs on the spot.
Seriously, the pool in Arifjan? I stopped through there and never saw one, but if I did I would've pissed in it and gladly taken the Article 15!!!!! Grow up PX-Ranger!!!! There are women and men who lost limbs, suffer the scars of PTSD, and you ???? You pusilanamous piece of canine fecal-matter are contemplating applying and, much less accepting a Purple Heart for Pool contamination????
Granted, this has to be a hoax!!!!!! But if not .....Gunner, Sabot, 2 Tanks, left tank, Driver move out...Gunner take over...ON THE WAY!!!!!

Burns OUT!
