Are there any 11C SSGs that would like to take/trade orders with me? I am currently on orders to Ft Polk, with a tentative report date of October/November time frame. I will literally go anywhere but there, but my only way out is trading or making this years list. GOD HELP ME!

I was once stationed there and did not enjoy the time spent. Met some good people but that's about it. Go to SFAS!! That maybe your only way out.

I would love HRC to have some kind of board on their Website where Soldiers could apply for PCS orders on line.
I am convinced for everyone who doesn't want an assignment there is another guy trying to go there. For Places like Polk they would have to give a bonus or something.

Sir you are spot on. The requisitions link suppose to have that purpose but every time I clicked on an available assignment I would get an email saying that it was no longer available. We have a broken system that could potentially be fixed by a simple fix like your idea unfortunately the Army red tape is to thick and god forbid a civilian with tenure looses their Job if they cannot longer place you on assignment.

I read an article I agree with saying we could do away with most of HRC if we had an online system where soldiers could apply for positions online and S1s and commanders could select the people applying for those positions. HRC would only need to regulate who could apply for what positions and provide incentives for positions fewer people applied for.

This was able ago, I got out of it. Ending up getting drum, made the SFC list then the warrant list. Life's good!

Polk is my SFAAT Teams home station and we will returning back there later this year. I really don't know what people find so bad about the place being stationed there. I understand if you have only been to Polk for a JRTC rotation then yes is sucks and you never want to go back.
I don't mind Polk as there is a lot of good hunting, fishing and all kinds of stuff to do outdoors. Yes Leesville is not that great but it is getting better. Alexandria has a lot of good shopping and then there is Lake Charles and Deridder close by. You also have Texas about 20 miles down the road anf you can get to Dallas/FT. Worth in a few hours and Beumont and other places.

Yup I didn't want Alaska and branch said....Alaska.. so It looks like I am about to go freeze for next 3 years. Good luck to you though... who knows there maybe a reason why your going to Polk. Just gotta take everything given to you by the Army and somehow turn it into a positive. It will all work out I'm sure it always does.
