I am wondering how the transition works when going into the active duty component from this program. Specifically, how assignments work, promotion, will the Air Force move my family and myself, how long after graduation will I be put on active duty, does the active duty wait until I receive my licensure before placing me on active duty?

Lt Williams, some very good questions you have regarding HPSP. I believe they will move your whole family when you PCS. Promotion boards begin when you are up for Capt. As for assignments, there is a nurse practitioner consultant who will work with the Air Force Nurse Corps Assignments officer to place you based on your specialty and the available vacancies. Did you sign a a statement of understanding/commitment?

Major, thank you for your response. I am under a contract, year for year. However, the recruiter was unsure of these details when I joined the program. I asked to be put in touch with someone who knew but that was never addressed.
My main concerns were about the time frame surrounding being put onto AD?
