My son spent 8 years in the army reserves from 2007 to 2015. He was never deployed in that time.

Is he eligible for any GI Bill education assistance programs?

LCpl Richard Gabriel Your son should apply for the benefits at https://www.ebenefits.va.gov. Once he has applied, the VA will send a Certificate of Eligibility, which will tell him if he is or isn't.

You are only able to use the chapter 1606 GI Bill and you can only use it while you are in the service.

If he is not in and never deployed he is probably not eligible for any assistance.
