Hello. Wondering what everyone's luck is with having a DBQ filled out by a non-VA related medical provider? My fear is I will go through the trouble only to be told by the VA I will need to have their provider examine me. I have not had to much luck with VA doctors. Can they deny my claim for disability increase if I refuse to go? Even if the DBQ is complete and submitted properly?

You will have to go through an evaluation by a doctor directed by the VA for a C&P exam.
Yes, if you refuse their exam you will likely find yourself denied.
You can have your doctor complete the VA DBQ. If your doctor has been treating you for some time, whether using the VA DBQ, or not, it would carry more weight than an exam completed during a C&P exam.

It would only carry more weight with your private doctor. C&P examiners are contracted to submit reports that minimize any and all diagnoses

SP5 Peter Keane the diagnosis and evaluation of your treating physician carries more weight with regard to the C&P decision. This is supported by BVA decisions that have specifically addressed which evidence outweighs the other when they contradict, as well as rating guidance.
You may believe that the contracted examiners are contracted to submit reports that minimize diagnoses, based on your experience or urban legend, but they are not. Were that true, there would be far fewer, or zero, Veterans receiving awards.

I always try to submit my civilian medical records whenever I submit a claim. you will be examined by a VA doctor for your Comp & Pen exam. if you refuse, they will deny the claim, even if your civilian doctor has indisputable evidence about your claim.
