The VA is making a BIG move when it comes to dealing with big construction projects. The goal is to stop the over spending on contracts with outside bids. The USACE has issued reports on four VHA locations that are in the middle or pending remodels or total contractions builds; Denver Replacement Medical Center; the Orlando VA Medical Center; the Las Vegas VA Medical Center; and the New Orleans VA Medical Center.
What do you think? Smart move for the VA? Utilizing other government resources?

Congress also wants the VA to fire those responsible for the massive cost overruns in Denver and make major internal changes to avoid a repeat - perhaps turning over responsibility for major construction projects to the Army Corps of Engineers.
