Tye Omaha Ne VA is great but the parking situation sucks. How come the police force there dosen't do anything about it? The dental and the ER parking lot are always full and there are few dental and ER patients there. Once I had to walk from the extreme east parking lot Through the hospital to get to the ER. The police are a joke. They could do more to controul the parking by employees and others who are parking where they shouldn't, but they don't do a damn thing. I know that nothing will be done and I'm wasting my time to write this.

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding parking struggles at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The police service and parking committee continuously evaluate and adjust parking options to improve our Veteran and Customer experience. We have numerous capital improvement and construction projects that can be disruptive to parking but we also have several parking improvements we are making at this time. The facility is currently working on replacing current campus signage making designated parking assignments clearer. In addition, we are currently working on a parking garage expansion, which will add more than 200 parking stalls. Police complete rounds regularly and will continue to issue citations, as warranted for parking violations. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this inquiry and we also have a Veteran Advisory group that meets monthly, and we will share this information with them to gather additional Veteran input and recommendations for improvement.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs - I will believe it when I see improvements. A lot of us old guys who aren't handicapped are thrown by the wayside while more and more handicap spots are being posted. I have missed apointments because there were absolutely no parking spots. I doubt that anything will change.
