I'm going to my cousins high school for a veteran's day assembly and do not have my ASU's yet and was wondering if I can still wear OCP's since it is the next best option?

I somewhat am confused about this. Is the event required with your organization? If it is then I would ask those who are in charge. If you are just showing up to support your cousin I wouldn't wear a uniform since it is a veterans Day event.
Cadet, If you wear your OCPs please remember the following:
** High School Cadets that are looking at the military WANT TO BE YOU. This is a serious responsibility placed on you. Pray the prayer, "Dear Lord Don't let me mess this up" before you say the first word to one of them.
** Those High School Cadets will have tons of questions, be willing to say that You do not know, be patient to answer what you can, and remember that you represent the Air Force and the AFROTC.
** Wear the uniform CORRECTLY and be in Grooming standards to the max, fresh haircut and shave.
** These High School Cadets may be applying to the ROTC program in the next couple years. Most of the serious ones will look for people like you to be their mentor, Earn That.
Remember, when you wear the uniform to an event, especially a public event, you represent everyone that wears and has ever worn the uniform of your nation. IT IS a pride thing, 100% but it is a Responsibility thing, 100%
I know this is a heavy answer, but it is important. You may be inspiration for a kid that needs to be inspired, you may be the example that motivates a kid or a dozen kids to join the profession of arms.

Why would you need to be wearing any uniform? Don't wear any uniforms. Just go in civilian clothes.
Wait - why would you have ASUs or any Army uniform if you're in Air Force ROTC? ASU is Army Service Uniform.

CPT (Join to see) is spot-on.
To be 100% sure, check your ROTC regulations for wear of the duty uniform (OCP). I know some departments will tell you only to wear your uniforms at organizational activities sponsored by the program, but others, like the Citadel, encourage you to wear your dress uniforms to certain outside functions.
