We had a generous donation from the Santa Clara Valley Quilts Association. Their donation includes wheelchair quilts, 15 long quilts, and 10 reversible quilts.

We are so fortunate to live in an area that truly cares for our Veterans. Please help me in sending a huge thank you to everyone at the Santa Clara Valley Quilts Association for their donation!

Posting on behalf of Tam Pham, Army Veteran: "I first connected with Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) in 2018 when I trained to become a Mentor through the Character Does Matter program for youth while attending law school in Houston, TX. In 2021, when TMF activated volunteers in response to the Afghan refugee crisis, I joined other veterans and American Red Cross volunteers at Ft. Bliss, TX, where hundreds of families were being welcomed into the United States. As the son of two immigrant refugees, I saw a little of myself in the children that received the clothes, toys, and food we were distributing. That experience also provided a sense of closure for me and all of the emotions I experienced in response to the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. This month, when the chance to once again serve with TMF came up, I jumped at the chance. On April 21, I joined other veterans in Atlanta to support Meals on Wheels by decorating cards for senior citizens, bagging bread, assembling breakfast trays, and stocking and organizing donated food items. As veterans, it’s our duty to help and serve our communities - and people across our country - whenever and wherever possible."

The Loyola University Chicago Student Veterans of America Chapter is hosting an Earth day clean-up event on Friday 22 April 22. We are meeting on Lake Shore campus by the damen statue at 1 pm. We will have prizes for the group that collects the most trash! ALL are welcome!

Posting on behalf of Royce Achterberg, Army Veteran- "I participated in a 7-month leadership program with Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) in 2021, which sparked my personal development and growth in a lot of areas - and provided me with a community that I absolutely love. Despite the busyness of my daily life, I know how important it is for me and veterans like me to serve. I believe we possess a higher standard of character and integrity than the average civilian and, because of that, we have to be the ones who step up and lead. This April, I volunteered to help clean the stables and property at Saddle Light Center in San Antonio, TX - an organization that provides professional equestrian therapy to children, teens, and adults with neurological, orthopedic, learning, emotional and other disabilities. Serving with TMF in this way allows me to be an example to future generations while also providing that sense of community that I love about TMF. “If Not Me, Then Who…” "

United Soldiers and Sailors of America - USASOA is gathering volunteers in our Capitol Hill office in Washington, DC today between the hours of 3 pm and 8 pm to assemble care packages for our deployed troops, homeless veterans, and elderly veterans who are food insecure. I am a member of the Frackville Elks Lodge and I am looking for Veteran in the community who would like to get involved with the adopted a Veteran Program for our local Nusing homes. Please im me if you would like to help.

I am the Social Recreational events coordinator for the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council (LVMAC) in Allentown, PA. We seek to enrich the lives of our Veteran community through community engagement and by offering our Veterans free tickets to sporting events.

I volunteer with Foresters Financial, a non-profit financial company that encourages its members to do charitable acts within their community. My activities have helped Open Door Pregnancy Center, a shelter for battered women, Prevent Child Abuse of Tennessee, Police Departments of Greenbrier, Springfield and White House, TN. I was taught if you have hope and gladness, you have to give it away. By helping in my local community I see the impact everyday. I encourage everyone to find a local non-profit to volunteer with and share your hope and gladness. You won't regret it.
