I flew in and off burn pit areas.

Later on I had a cancerous tumor and had it removed 2 years ago. Do I qualify to apply?

Every Veteran's claim is different, and without any additional information, we cannot address your specific question. However, for Gulf-war related presumptions under the PACT Act, the locations identified also include the airspace above those locations. Anytime you believe that you have a medical condition that was caused by your military service, VA encourages you to file a claim. For more information about your specific situation, we encourage you to contact VA directly or consult an accredited Veterans Service Organization.

I have been diagnosed with Pagetts bone disease and I was in Persian Gulf War and was exposed to burn pits. The pagetts disease causes bone and joint pain and it is not familial and I don't have anyone in my family with it. Would this be compensable under the PACT Act? It believe it is undiagnosed due to the unknown etiology and unknown pathology or something to that effect. Thank you

Anytime you believe that you have a medical condition that was caused by your exposure to military environmental exposures, including burn pits, VA encourages you to file a claim. Though Pagetts bone disease is not identified as a presumptive condition in the PACT Act, entitlement to service-connected benefits may be established without meeting the criteria for a presumption. In order to establish entitlement to service-connected compensation there must be (1) evidence of an in-service event, (2) evidence of a current disability and (3) a link between the two. VA encourages you to file a claim.

I was a small combat outpost which had just recently gotten rid of their burn pit just prior to my arrival. How do I find out if I'm eligible for any benefits under the PACT act and does it apply to any contaminates that could have remained from the burn pit?

The PACT Act established presumptions of service connection for more than 20 conditions related to exposure to burn pits and certain other Gulf War toxins. If you believe that you have a medical condition that was caused by your exposure to burn pits, VA encourages you to file a claim now.

If you are applying for a new condition for disability compensation under the PACT Act, you can file a claim online via VA.GOV or, in person at any regional office, or with an accredited representative. If you want to file a claim for a condition for which you’ve been previously denied, you do need to file again – you’ll need to submit a supplemental claim using VA Form 20-0995. Again, you can file a claim online via VA.GOV or, in person at any regional office, or with an accredited representative.

What is being done concerning the burn pit, the effects it has on the lungs, brain functioning due to lack of oxygen; and now veterans forced to take the vaccine and or that have had Covid? All of these issues effect oxidation to brain and on top of that PTSD.

VA and DoD have several studies planned addressing lung and overall health effects of airborne hazards, burn pits and other military exposures. The PACT Act directs DoD to conduct several environmental studies that will review military exposures and health.

In 2007 I had a Major Heart Attack. Several years later I learned about Agent Orange and heart effects. Filed claim and was asproved for only 30 percent disability. I've had 4 more stents but can't seem to be approved for any further increase. Would like to under stand why. This effectived my lovely hood from 2007 on.

VA assigns a disability rating based on the severity of your disability, which represents how much your disability decreases your overall health and ability to function. We base this rating on the evidence you give us (like a doctor's report or medical test results), the results of a VA claim exam, and other information we may get from other sources (like federal agencies). However, if you believe your condition has worsened, VA encourages you to file a claim for increase. You can file a claim online via VA.GOV or, in person at any regional office, or with an accredited representative.

Langley AFB is on the list of contaminated water, what are they doing for the veterans assignment there during the late 80's to the early 90s? Also worked around a diazo machine for 3 years that used liquid ammonia and while stationed at 2 bases, lived very close to the flight line. I have had questions asked about living and working near a flight line. Are those health issues.

VA has no presumptions for Langley AFB. VA encourages all Veterans who feel their health conditions are related to service to file a claim. This webpage can help instruct you on how to file: https://www.va.gov/disability/how-to-file-claim/.

Thank you for your service. You can find out more information on the vaccines here, but it is unlikely to lead to long-term health consequences: https://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/vaccinations-medications.asp. VA encourages all Veterans who feel their health conditions are related to service to file a claim. This webpage can help instruct you on how to file: https://www.va.gov/disability/how-to-file-claim/.

I'm a widow veteran. My husband passed with a service connected disability, His claims for Agent Orange was filed, but he passed before he got a rating. I received a 500 dollar check, and condolences. Can I still file again using the old claim, so I can receive back payment for the claim?

Thank you for your family's service to the nation and please accept our condolences on the loss of your husband. You should apply for Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) as a surviving spouse. DIC is a stipend paid to surviving spouses and dependent children of veterans who pass of a service connected illness or injury. You should not use the old claim, as you are not the veteran; but rather a VA Form 21-534EZ.
