We fight, they fight. With ourselves, then with each other, for what? Gold? Oil? Land? Freedom? Are we getting paid to protect these countries or do we owe them so much money that we do this protecting for free? We owe so much money to everyone I am wondering who is the real enemy. I would not attack someone I owe money to.

Everytime we talk about paying our government employees I get a headache. Raise the debt ceiling or go bankrupt...kill the economy. Who manages our money? Sure isnt the FEDERAL RESERVE?

That of course always depends on your perspective, and whether you won the war or not. For the United States, war was good in establishing our country, otherwise we would still be British. It also helped to end slavery, as well as liberate Europe from Nazis who were exterminating millions of people and would have enslaved much of the world. While war itself is ugly, those are some of the positive outcomes that some can point to. Without the US being wiling to fight, it is likely that there would be a whole lot less freedom in the world. After all, if you're not willing to fight for freedom, there is usually somebody else who is willing to fight to take it away.

None of the above is intended to say that "war is good", nor as a justification for all wars.

Valid points in the post, but we are always fighting. Is a New World Order the only way to stop fight with other countries? One world leader and every country has the same laws, rules, and regulation so the fighting will cease? It really seems thats our future. The world is using one monetary system, one world leader voted by everyone in the world.

PO2 Morton Scisco - War is part of human nature; different factions competing for power and resources. Many wars are civil wars, so a larger government wouldn't prevent that. There has been a big reduction in the scale of wars since WWII and the advent of nuclear weapons (mutually assured destruction), but I don't think there is a secret sauce to end all possible fighting. We just have to always be strong, mitigate chances of war whenever possible, and when all else fails - know which wars are worth fighting.

first of all .... Raising the debt ceiling is to pay all those extra spending or program that is not life and death. We have enough streaming revenue to cover the interest of the debt. Therefore, "go bankrupt" is a fear tactic and a false choice tactic. We just need to really cut deep on spending ... and people will need to start fencing themselves or providing themselves in many area.

Killing economy ... government spending become the life blood of the economy? the economy is already dead. government is not a wealth source, government don't generate wealth, it drain people's wealth to do whatever a government do. So, yes, either we face the truth now, or the truth will slap you very very bad eventually.

now come back to war, War is a function of human nature. it is like a tools, for what reason to go for war is the arguing factor. because as human race, we are still divided and share no common goal. :) until then ... expect war every 10 to 20 years.

edited: I just realize one thing by reading my own words... War is the only way for a government to bring in wealth to the system. That is also why war keep happening. because when government out grow or suppressed their own economy ... the only war to get any wealth is to go to war.
