Was the ETP on extended retention control points renewed and how does that effect soldiers over time in service?

There was an extension approved last year around June but stated was only in effect for 12 months. Have not heard anything since. If a soldier is over rcp, had signed etp, but the extension expires, what does that mean. Do the limits revert and they are out? Anyone heard anything?

The extension to the RCP issued back in July 2022 was superseded by MILPER 22-394 issued on 26 SEP 22 which extends the timeframe until 30 SEP 23.
Per the message, a Soldier must initiate the request to serve to the higher RCP, otherwise the standard RCP will remain.

I am not finding anything stating that the ETP was renewed. If I were a betting person, I would gather that once the 12 months is over....the SM either better be/get promoted or get ready to leave service. But, I would contact the Career Counselor to get clearer guidance.

From what I gather from the MILPER message, once your ETS date is adjusted, it won't "revert back" if the authority to exceed it goes away.

MSG (Join to see) - I just went back and examined it again in detail... clear as mud if you consider the language of the regulation.
The message indicates that once approved and processed, your ETS is updated in RETAIN and that's that. However, it doesn't say anything about the gray area you're talking about "What happens if my ETS is extended under the temporary RCP limits when the temporary extension expires?"
The regulation is pretty clear on RCP 'winning' in conflicts between RCP and ETS (with certain exceptions). Normally a Soldier won't be allowed to exceed the RCP by more than one month, again with a couple of exceptions (i.e., reduced in grade and exceed the RCP, etc).
CPL (Join to see), you really need to talk to your Career Counselor to see if they can get clarification on this point.
