All, if you are married, do you wear your wedding ring in uniform? If you do, what kind and what are your thoughts on why you chose that type.

I wear a tungsten ring that is a comfort fit, I take it off when working on electrical stuff though.

I wear a simple tungsten band. Had a beautiful etched gold band for years, but it didn't stand up well to the rigors of military life (or civilian life either for that matter. It took a beating in the 6 years I was out finishing my education to come back in as a chaplain). Over the years it got bent, warped, and was starting to crack. My wife got me the tungsten band as a replacement for our 15th wedding anniversary and the gold ring was tucked away in safe keeping.

Am not married, so no.

When I was married, I wore it in garrison unless I went into the motor pool. When I went to the field, it stayed at home.

I had to replace or upgrade my wedding ring because I was the traditional type of person. I’ve worn it during PT, which is now PRT, working in the motor pool, training with Soldiers in the field, and though five deployments. It had so many dents and scratches; the jewelry department could not repair it. Since, I’ve replaced it, I take it off at the motorpool, field training, or weight room.

I am about to tie the knot on Feb 14. Her ring was made by Tiffany & Co. and mine is an Amazon.com tungsten carbide special for eleven bucks. It is important to her so I will wear it.

I'm glad this question was brought up. It seems common sense to me, that if you're married you wear your rings! This opinion of mine has nothing to do with religion, I suppose it has to do with the way I was raised and taught that when you're married you wear rings. It drives me crazy seeing people who are married and they don't wear their ring. The military doesn't have an issue with it (or does it?), so I guess it's not an issue. I still wear mine though.

No, the military has no issues with married personnel wearing wedding rings. AR 670-1 on the Army side specifically says one ring per hand is allowed.

Oh, yeah, you're right on that one. In fact, more than one time I've been in formation for a change of command, and I've been ordered to remove my wedding ring. Not really sure why it's necessary, but whatever. As soon as they say 'fall out' it goes right back on.

I have always worn my ring. First was a gold one but kept misshaping it or bending it. I now have a gray tungsten one.

When we were on post or on training exercises I wore it. I never wore when deployed.
