Prior Marine wanting to join the army. what’s the process of re-enlisting and how do they choose duty station? And will my wife and kids be a problem when it comes to re-enlistment?

you will not get to pick your duty station. You will go to mos school (AIT) and get sent from there. Pretty easy process and if you have been out for less than a certain amount of time, then you dont have to do medical at MEPS. That is new as of September of last year.

should be an easy process....should get to keep your rank as well. Some funky things have been happening and I have been reading of certain prior service enlistees having to go through Army's basic....

SFC (Join to see) - Marines are the only service that is exempt from Army BCT requirements. All others have to attend BCT. There used to be a shorter Warrior Transition program, but it was never thought out correctly IMO and the standards varied between training units, so it got cancelled.

Best go talk to a recruiter at your local recruiting substation.
