I just received my projected orders to head to BACH once I’m complete my whiskey school. Any advice about the unit or to understand what it would be like would be amazing. Do I get the opportunity to go to Ai Assualt school quickly?

You will go to air assault school more than likely within the first month of getting there if you can pass a pt test

SPC (Join to see) I'd advise you to link up with line medics and prepare yourself to master medic skills. I'd also see if I could volunteer in a trama unit at the hospital or nearest civilian hospital.

Line medic is the dream but I’ll do my best anywhere I go. Is there a opportunity to switch to a line unit quickly. Nothing against the hospital medic lifestyle but I want the line medic experience. I’m excited to go to be able to go to Air Assualt school this quickly in my career. It’s one of my big goals.

Keep that attitude. Learn as much as you can while assigned to the hospital. I was only recommending that you broaden your network. You will have blinders on. We all do. So master your current assignment and also get to know what Line Medics do on a daily basis. I'm certain there is a program there that allows Medics to cross train. Eventually you will find the area that excites you. Become the expert in that area once you identify it. Then teach others.

Optempo at Campbell is pretty high. BACH is a nice facility. Locals have ready access to AASLT school. There's lots of services available thru ACS so spend time learning what all is offered. Enjoy your time here and explore your opportunities.

Been out too long to give you any up-to-date advice but I'm sure you'll adapt like a duck to water.

SPC (Join to see) Welcome to RP (if you haven't heard it yet) and can't wait till you see the installation! For on post, much everyone earlier said, there is an Education Center to help you progress with your professional and personal goals of higher education. But please note that you can't utilize the Tuition Assistance until you complete one full year of active federal service. Sources: https://www.goarmyed.com/public/public_tuition_assistance_policies.aspx & https://www.military.com/education/money-for-school/army-tuition-assistance.html
This one hit my soldiers hard but there are other programs such as the Pell Grant one of my other soldiers that I mentor have used to help where TA isn't able to pick up.

As for on post activities, there is the BOSS program (if you're single) source: https://campbell.armymwr.com/programs/boss and even a Facebook page for it when the website isn't updating like it should. There are various MWR runs, annual events such as this weekend, Fourth of July and the holidays. Despite being a family centric post it takes care of its single soldiers just as well.

SSG an engineer I can't say much on your day to day job, but what I gathered from old friends over these years, you need to get better than good at your job. Becoming a medical professional as a clinic medic and a line clinic when you're assigned to a BCT. You got BACH so clinic training is easy to assume but ask your first line (after in processing through KALSU http://www.campbell.army.mil/Soldiers/Pages/Newcomers.aspx) about training opportunities for line medic work.

As for Air Assault School, everyone will be excited you're wanting to go. I got two or of three of my soldiers to qualify before we are heading out the door and in theory you can go straight to school very soon. Please learn a technique to climb a rope. KALSU cadre will require you to climb their rope at least once before you're released for the day. It does help and they have no problem helping you learn a better way to climb up a rope.

Can't wait to hear you out here in Screaming Eagle Country and have a wonderful but safe weekend.

Aside from any work training stuff, honest, is live in the post education center, make it a second home, honest...we had an ed ctr where I was I used it, though not efficiently, seriously, I'd !ale beaucoup serious use of it, and start am assocs and/or bachelor's part time as quickly as humanly possible, of clinical because you're clinical, fi e, if another major, also fine, however, I'd immerse myself in cultural things there, as well as take advantage of whatever is around, if there's a mil aero club, def go for sport and/or private pilot training if allowed...if you want martial arts, I'd always wanted to do aikido where I was, that and iaido would keep you well occupied, though you may have your own tastes in such things...I was never there when I was in, however, if there's volunteering stuff to do on installation, offer to do it, honestz it'd reflect well on you, esp for your evals, those are my thoughts, honest....

I didn't know if you'd wanted to do any college, however, I found this, just in case it might be of any possible interest....

Look at the area around both locations. Pick which one you think you would like to be around. In Campbell you have Nashville about 45 min away. In Stewart you have Savannah about 30 min away. I believe both places are fun to ride motorcycles at and do out door activities. (Hunt, fish, etc). Do your research. As far as the duty assignment you will make it what it is at either place.
