This one hit my soldiers hard but there are other programs such as the Pell Grant one of my other soldiers that I mentor have used to help where TA isn't able to pick up.
As for on post activities, there is the BOSS program (if you're single) source: https://campbell.armymwr.com/programs/boss and even a Facebook page for it when the website isn't updating like it should. There are various MWR runs, annual events such as this weekend, Fourth of July and the holidays. Despite being a family centric post it takes care of its single soldiers just as well.
SSG an engineer I can't say much on your day to day job, but what I gathered from old friends over these years, you need to get better than good at your job. Becoming a medical professional as a clinic medic and a line clinic when you're assigned to a BCT. You got BACH so clinic training is easy to assume but ask your first line (after in processing through KALSU http://www.campbell.army.mil/Soldiers/Pages/Newcomers.aspx) about training opportunities for line medic work.
As for Air Assault School, everyone will be excited you're wanting to go. I got two or of three of my soldiers to qualify before we are heading out the door and in theory you can go straight to school very soon. Please learn a technique to climb a rope. KALSU cadre will require you to climb their rope at least once before you're released for the day. It does help and they have no problem helping you learn a better way to climb up a rope.
Can't wait to hear you out here in Screaming Eagle Country and have a wonderful but safe weekend.
