If you are interested in reclassification to Counterintelligence I highly recommend doing some research on the Army Counterintelligence Recruiting page located on the Intelligence Knowledge Network [https://www.ikn.army.mil/] this page will tell you everything you want to know.
As for assignment and deployments, the "book answer" as pulled strait from the Counterintelligence recruiting briefing is:
Strategic Assignments Include:
Joint Special Operations Command
U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command
902nd MI Group (CONUS)
66th MI Group (Germany)
650th MI Group (Belgium)
501st MI Bde (Korea)
205th MI BN (Hawaii)
441st MI BN (Japan)
Tactical Assignments Include:
HBCTs, IBCTs, SBCTs (Worldwide)
1ID, 1AD, 2ID, 3ID, 4ID, 10MTN, 25ID, 82ABN, 101ABN
Special Operations Command
U.S. Army Special Operations Command
or you could just read into that as you can go pretty much anywhere. Counterintelligence is a very diverse career field and has a multitude of assignment/deployment opportunities aside from the traditional Investigative Field Office most people think of when they hear Counterintelligence. Any more detailed questions I recommend you visit your local Counterintelligence Field Office and they will square you away.
