I am currently an AD serving as a 68W, 1 year and 4 months in, BEng In Elect/Elect Engineering (3.78/4 GPA) and a Masters degree in Telecommunications and I am working on getting a DC for the 72DN2 or 72DN2 Position. What are my chances of getting approved for it??

It sounds like you would be good. Call your nearest AMEDD recruiter. Make sure you get someone that knows what they are doing. Active duty enlisted straight into an active duty direct commission are weird. I had to learn it all the hard way this year.

Well I went down this road before we needed the 4187 not 368. It’s a little confusing from the recruiters perspective as this isn’t the most common thing. But my applicant just got his orders to report to bolc. The problem we are having now is his unit never routed his 4187 to branch for release. So he has orders to report but his branch hasn’t released him lol. Think we got it fixed but either way strap in for a bumpy confusing road.

I will sergeant. I just want this to be done on time and over with, also with high hopes of CV review approval and selection for the board....
The recruiter had told me about a CV review which could take about days or weeks, followed by the board which could take months. Is that how it works sergeant?

What exactly is the process?

Apparently I talked to my recruiter's boss yesterday and he told me I needed the 4187 as an AD soldier. He said it has to be signed by my Company CO, Battalion CO and the G1. Now I have to fill out a 4187 and reroute it again to my DCCS.

I am yet to even get a feedback from the 368 I sent up

I am in Army reserve trying to go to active DC and i have already send that 368 and its sitting at BDE level. I don’t think i will have that in my receuiter hand before october board date. Do you think its ok if that 368 gets signed after board date selection and before i signed the contract?? I have sent local 368 signed by commander only for the board purpose thoughSFC (Join to see)

Well, I was not able to go on with it becsue the recruiter after getting everything he needed and submitted them and sent me a message couple of weeks later. My CV review was not sucessful becasue I have a foreign degree which is not accredited by ABET. It died there. So the best option for me was to apply for OCS

As I'd already said elsewhere on here, I entirely realize you, given that you want environmental sci, you're looking at AMEDD, I get that, however, please trust me based on yrs of not being able to have gotten onto the clinical side, you're overlooking USPHS Commissioned Corps...both of you are, promise...I trained under an O-6 of theirs while doing my clinical allied-health doctorate, though I'm total perm disabled, as I'd also said, and couldn't go USPHS as I'd wanted...look at their scientist spots, for concentrating on environ sci, as well as their Jr and Sr COSTEP, both undergrad, and grad...call their toll-free phones, and chat with their recruiters, you've both got zero to lose, and everything to gain, possibly, promise, honest, OK If you both wanna chat more, as I'd also said, just lemme know, no rush, whenever you'd both want, OK?

Given that you're clinical, to not at least think about this, which I'm quite sure you must have, would obv be, to my mind, totally crazy...you'd be perfect for it, if you'd wanna consider going this direction...look also at dental, esp for dental materials, as close as dental gets to bioengrg, as well as the NIDR for dental at NIH, or whatever the name morphed to, as well as the osteopathic (D.O.) schools, NOT orthopedic, and NOT just the M.D. programs, OK? Look esp also under dental at oral and maxillofacial surg, esp orthognathic surg, which is craniofacial reconstruction, and the follow ons such dental residencies have to let you double dip and get an accelerated M.D. or D.O., getting either one or two yrs advanced credit, the reasons for the differences are involved and would take more explanation, however, trust me, they've existed since the 70s, Harvard was the first one to have such an arrangement for dual dental-med, plus, if you ride the intellectual gravy train all the way, you could walk out with an MD/DO-DMD/DDS-PhD, which is most def top of the intellectual sci food chain, I assure you, OK? Trust me, been there, done that (BTDT), I just couldn't get it, why would take hours to explain, just trust I know whereof I speak on such things, OK?

No problemo, as I'd said, if you wanna yak more, just lemme know, trust me, you can get as technical as you'd want, doesn't matter if it'd be EE, physics, math, CS, IT, chem, bio, clinical topics, you can go as high as you want, elaborate on your specific technical interests if you can, what internships/externships you might've done, any ROTC, SMP, Green to Gold, whatever exposure you've had, the more you relate, the more I can suggest, trust me, I've taken it all, passed it all, I was trained by the best, worked 11 yrs as an EE with the best, 9 yrs clinically under just about everything clinical that walks, crawls, talks, and flies, Ive been around more bureaucratic blocks than God has streets, I assure you, other than deploying, which I never did, due to the whole disability thing, I've seen just about everything bureaucratic and scientific there is, promise, so get as technical as you can, eolectromagnetics, antennas, transmission lines, waveguides, comm systems, control systems, differential equations, linear/matrix algebra, complex variables, signal processing, biochem, immunology, microbio, gross anatomy, bioengineering, you name it, I've either done it, read it, or been examined on it, there's virtually zero you're gonna go into I haven't seen, promise, OK?

Read about this, it's hard to get, seriously difficult, one of the best EEs I'd worked under while on active only got alternate, he got fed up, and got out...all the flight test programs have this, USAF, Navy, Army uses them for rotary wing and fixed wing flight test, you can also apply to the Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS) in the UK, as well EPNER in France, on their exchange programs, plus, all their programs, pilot/aviator, navigator/WSO, and FTE, as discussed here, are all at least masters level, so far as I'm aware...there's also a civilian overflow school for such stuff in Calif, Natl Test Pilot School (NTPS), it's not Federal, though I'd read it's used a good deal by all the svcs, from what I'd read....

We have a family friend who'd gone this way...it only needs high school, you'd probably ace their SIFT with your GPA, I think that's their exam, trust me, look at it if you've got any flight interests, OK?

USPHS also uses comp sci (CS) and IT, plus, they're direct commission, if you go clinical, they have an arrangement for psych-related esp to do 3-yr tours with Army, Navy, and USAF....

I'd seriously look about this, USCG has their own, their other clinicians are USPHS...I'd wanted to go USPHS, I'm total perm disabled, I was never able, though God knows I'd wanted to....
