Sadly, all the good ones I know would no longer be considered politically correct.

The politically ones are the best, and those are the one the troops would chose if allowed a choice. Furthermore, the women would be more likely to be singing them louder and with more gusto than the guys. People this is the AMERICAN MILITARY when we were on duty we were PROFESSIONALS, off duty we were Historically RUDE, CRUDE, and SOCIALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They work hard and should be allowed to play hard, I know I did when I was in during the late 70's and early 80's. If today's politically correct "Snowflakes" can't handle that give them a pair of industrial safety pins, a towel and tell them to go change their diapers. Sorry for the rant, I'll get off my soapbox and go get another Asbach Uralt & Coke.

Around her hair she wore a yellow ribbon/ She wore it in the spring time in the merry month of may/ And if you asked her why the hell she wore it/ She wore it for that Sapper who was far, far away/ Far away, Far away/ She wore it for that sapper who was far, far away.

Most good cadence destroyed by pic police and whimp DI's.
One I remember is Engineer cadence.
We are, we are, we are the Army Engineers
We can, we can, demolish forty beers.
Drink up, drink up, drink up drink up,and come along with us, for we don't give a damn for any old man who don't give a damn for us.

By far my favorite cadence. "My mother was a hostess in a house of ill repute, my father was a miner in the upper Malamute. They kicked me out of house and home when in my tender years, told me grow up become a man, and join the engineers!"

they don't have to be perfect and substitute time with counts, from scratch listen to and recite some, can change words if it's your cadence.. many to choose from 'oh hail infantry' ill try to remebr partially one from basic, i dont know all the words, oh 'til i get on back home' 'captain jack',
bradley ridin low
the infantry is on the go
kill the enemy, take his soul
so early in the morning
so early, so early
so early in the morning

sniper fire on the hill
he locked hes loaded hes ready to kill
kill the enemy take his soul
so early in the morning
so, early so early
so early in the morning

It's a great new world for most of us, to obey the rules is a simple must, when the day gets you down, don't you dare wear a frown, it's smile, smile smile. We're the Navy and we're proud. We're so proud we sing out loud, standing tall as we march by, standing side by side. - (it's a small world after all). Orlando, FL 1978

I had 2 great Drill Instructors who "yodeled" and sang their cadence "lo ah lo, roda lo ah lo" "Left your Left, Right left). almost impossible to write or duplicate unless you heard it. It's an art but it was very motivating. When he called cadence all you heard from 55 recruits were One step at a time.
