Just recently attended MSLC and was very disappointed with the experience and curious if others differ or feel the same way and why.

I was not impressed by SLC whatsoever. I went to SLC with the impression that the courses were designed to hone and improve your skills as a Staff Sergeant and to prepare you for greater leadership roles and positions within your MOS. This, sadly, was not the case. The majority of time spent in my course was devoted to things that our STPs consider to be 10 level tasks. We had a BFT (Blue Force Tracker) tracker class that was new to me. But everything else I had learned as a Specialist. We did some very basic drill and ceremony (Prepare for Inspection) that was probably the only valuable thing we studied. Yeah, complete disappointment, thats how I would classify my SLC experience.

Come work at your local NCOA, we need innovative and inspiring cadre and it seems that you all have the ideas to implement! I'm all ears and very eager to fix what I can. Thanks
