Capt Tom Brown - the cost of living is very low, people I know that have moved their wipe the quality of life. It's simpler and slower.

Ecuador, humm, I know international living magazine rated it the number one location for expats a couple of years ago. Andes mountain towns where it's spring year round with Hemingway type bungalows, warm sandy beaches a bus ride away. Very low cost of living and great medical care. Heck I even sold myself!

Hey Colonel Burroughs, Belize, really? You can't ride that Harley very far before you run out of road. Really beautiful place there for sure.

Lots have changed since I first retired but still like our decision to return to the Tampa Bay area. Was stationed here in 80s and when it came time to retire we asked ourselves where we had most enjoyed. Couple of other areas were in the running, but between medical considerations and desire to not be far from the water, Tampa Bay won.

Base Camp near Olympus Mons COL Mikel J. Burroughs I have 30+ years ahead of me. After faithfully serving my country, this is where I want to go.

I’m a 100% Disabled Veteran from New Bern, NC. My wife and I are moving to N. East Tenn in a few months. No state taxes, no property taxes on 1 vehicle, and they don’t make you pay on the first $100k of your home property taxes. Plus it’s beautiful there and the Northerners aren’t taking over, haha.
