There are a lot of discounts and deals for around Veterans Day. We are curious what RallyPoint members think are the best.

The best free thing is my “freedom”. The ability to go when and where I want w/o diplomatic restriction.. getting discounts is nice.. but not the biggest.. We went and served
and coming back able to get around is a big thing.. a lot of people that served are hampered by their disability. I have issues too.. When I was in we were told we couldn’t accept a discount if one wasn’t offered
To the Dick or Jane on the street. One Diner owner remedied that... He or whoever was at the cash out stand would look in the mirror while you were sat down and comment: “I think the lights in your car are on, Sir”
I‘s go check n return, they’d punch my card and discount my meal that day.. So they got it, they just had to wait until next time.. yeah-yeah.. technicalities.., they’re everywhere ! At Grand Forks there was a weasel.. a civil servant type.., He whined about that trick.. So Joe or Jane would double punch our card complaining it wasn’t working right.. That Diner took care of its Veterans n Active duty and Emergency services .. fill their thermos for the price of the cup they had at breakfast ( not charge them... The weasel complained of e’thing.. I noticed one day the sole on his shoe was 3 x the thickness as the other sole. I didn’t say anything, I would save it for a trump card .. I found the weasel didn’t serve because of that.. but being disabled like that, I think he was there before the ADA is how he got the job..
possibly.. So time goes on and
We forget about the weasel..
Found out he got that job under his own skill .. he was good at what he did. The day he applied he never mentioned his shorter leg.. because it didn’t hurt because he was used to it he said. It was later after another operation the docs had to amputate another 1/4” off his leg.. because the disease was a genetic one they gave him the points through SSI.. and backdated it to when he applied.. so because he never
Pushed for a discount, why should anyone else?...

Stars for our Troops Thanks our current military, veterans and first responders for their service with an embroidered Stars from a retired American flag and a message that reads: "I am part of our American flag that has flown over the USA. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.”
For those that are currently deployed with an APO, FPO or military base address, they can receive 2 bags of 50 Stars each for free.
For Veterans that read this message and order one bag of Stars for a donation of $5, you will receive a second bag of 50 Stars for free when you note on the order that you found out about the Stars from Aunt Sew. This offer is available until midnight EST on 11/11/19.

Sometimes some of the stores/businesses around our town do a free lunch and a free tee shirt for the local veterans. The most important thing is that we are a free nation, due to brave men and women being willing to put our lives on the line and die for our country.

Our VA benefits are very valuable. If you don't believe it look at some medical bills.

Home Depot on Vet Day they allow Vets that served 4 years in Vet Nam and made it back with out being injured or completely bed bound to receive the same 10% discount that the active duty, retired,or disable vets receive all year long. I was so glad that the non-vets at Home Depot pointed out regular vets in there eyes were only qualified for this discount on special days of the year.

We were all willing to give our lives for our great nation. Some of us were lucky enough, or God blessed us enough to not see combat or to return uninjured.

So far, I've only gotten the "FREE" meals on VETERANS DAY! I get breakfast, lunch, dinner and sometimes I go back out for supper, I think it's great!

Exactly! The way I see it they aren't "freebies" at all.

Over the years I did get 2 free lunches and one car wash. But I gave up. Normally the lines are so long you can't even get near the place. There must be a better way?
