What are the Best Military Monuments that You've Seen and Share a Picture?
RP Members let's get some really good pictures of the best Military Monuments!
Here is a great one. The Above Picture is: New Mexico veterans memorial Albuquerque Vietnam War!
VETERANS TRIBUTE please take a moment when you see former or active service men or women thank them. I stand and salute all as " All gave some and some gave all. "

Finally got the pic to post. And now I notice that I should have angled it a bit so you can actually see Robert E. Lee sitting atop his horse Traveler on top of the monument.

I am disgusted and angry over the actions of the Mayor of New Orleans--acting as an American Taliban--in removing the memorials to General Robert E. Lee, Lt. General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard and President Jefferson Davis. The man is in real life as big a sleaze as the fictional mayor character on NCIS New Orleans. I will never again visit the Big Sleazy or spend a single dime there.

Lake in Yukon Canada named after U.S. Army Lieutenant. Schwatka Lake, located in Whitehorse, Yukon was named after Lieutenant Frederick Schwatka who surveyed the entire length of the Yukon River by raft in 1883. Just one of the many little known accomplishments of the United States Military.

Thanks Mikel. This one is not exactly a great looking monument, but it does educate us on a little know fact about our great military and the individuals who make it great.

I don't have a picture, but the Russian memorial in Berlin, with a grove of 1,000 weeping willows, touched me. Say whatever you will about them, but the Soviets knew how to build an impressive war memorial.

This is the Canadian National Memorial at Vimy Ridge, atop Hill 145 in France. I visited there in October 2016 and was just amazed at how large it was. April 9 was the 100th Anniversary of this battle, where many say that Canada became a nation that day. On July 1 of this year, we will celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary. So, yes, it is an important year for us. Below, are some of the shots I took with my iphone as my Nikon's battery had died.
On the left the unexploded munitions warning and the memorial in the background. In the middle. The Figure of Canada overlooks the tomb. She is facing out over the ridge in the direction of the advancing German army. On the left is the memorial from the road. The wall at the base records the names of the fallen that circumvent it.

Being a Cold "War" Infantry vet this is a favorite. But I saw plenty of action as a Los Angeles cop for 27 years. I'm proud of it all.
