Recently in the news. The Robert E. Lee monument on Monument Ave. in Richmond, VA. Leave it up or take it down?

The following statement attribute to General Lee is one that I believe to be true. If the monuments in question teach that we are not all one country then I will agree with Lee. Madam, do not train up your children in hostility to the government of the United States. Remember, we are all one country now. Dismiss from your mind all sectional feeling, and bring them up to be Americans.
I am foremost an American and condemn any animosities within our country. If any ideology condemns any American no matter as a group or an individual then I oppose its furtherance. We can disagree but it should never reach the point of the Union ever being dissolved again.

It would be impossible for me to select one monument. Each military monument is special in it's own right as it commemorates the Warriors that gave so much for our Great Nation! May God continue to bless our Nation with heroes!!

Thank you Mikel. I have some new images to post, but I have been busy doing some other things including several Veteran's Day Projects that are fast approaching.

I took these on my last visit to Washington DC in 2011. I found the World War II Memorial particularly moving at night...especially with the Lincoln Memorial watching over the Reflection Pool in the background. Hoping to catch a few more shots on this trip.

I hate to come across as a Doubting Thomas, but are there actually going to be any monuments at all to admire -- five years from now? The groups destroying the statues have scored victory after victory, and the Americans have scored none. There appears to be no government support for the keeping of these monuments.

On a personal note, I very much like and wish to keep the statues and monuments.

Bob, the one comment I did hear is the National Park Service has no plans to remove monuments at Gettysburg National Park.

I would say all the statues they removed in NewOrleans. My parents would take us sight seeing and we thought it was amazing to see these statues.I can't post a picture of them because someone thought these statues of Veterans were racist and offensive. They were also vandalized. It's funny how we got a new VA facility in a city were veterans are not welcomed.Well you say these were civil war soldiers, nope they are veterans our laws say so.

This one is not as grand as some, but it is in an interesting spot in what is now a cornfield.
