What are the chances my waiver for the MOS and F7 billet prereq for Pathfinder school will be approved?

So i am currently an e5 assigned to the 101st. I am trying to attend the pathfinder school at TSAAS, however my mos, 35P, is not on the list of mos’ that are allowed to attend the school nor am I in a pathfinder MTOE position. The waiver needs to get signed by my BN commander.

The MOS' allowed to attend Pathfinder school is a mess. It needs to be redone. That is one of those schools that for some reason, gets a lot of people in it who will never, ever, ever, in their entire career, have the chance to utilize the information, yet there are a bunch of jobs that do need it, but require waivers. I once saw an Intel CPT (non-enlisted prior) with the pretty badge....uh WTF do you need that for? Meanwhile there's 11B, 19D, 37F, 38B, and 13F who need that course and are consistently conducting PFDR ops downrange. The MOS' allowed to go to certain schools is as broken as the award system.
So I ask you this, why, as a 35P, do you need to be a Pathfinder? Do you expect to set up or assess many Drop Zones, Pickup Zones, or sling equipment? Or do you want an ASI and a badge?

It’s funny because in the field, that’s one of our responsibilities as a Light Sapper...

lol...note, not an all inclusive list above.
btw 12B are some of the best I've seen when they switch to 38B, between 12B and 19D for the best CA Soldiers I see.

Such a small number of spots in that course and you want to take one with an MOS that will never actually use the skills you'll learn? Makes sense...
