My 120 day early arrival 4187 was denied by HRC there wasn't any reason noted the only thing I can think of is the fact that it was 120 days. I thought I had a pretty good reason (kids school and arriving in time to switch to 2IBCT), but hey it happens. My question is, what are the chances of a 90 day or 60 day 4187 getting approved? I have done my 4 years here at Lewis and looking to move on as soon as possible, opsec prevents me saying the other reason so what are my chances if anyone has experience with this.

Hi SSG Brooks, I know this post is a bit old, but I was wondering if you got the answer for your question or if you actually was able to report 90 days early? I am going thru the same situation.

Have you looked into your losing unit allowing you the opportunity for a long leave period in conjunction with TDY for the move? I have heard of this occurring sometimes.

If the school reason is compelling enough then try. FCCO area schools start in early August if I'm correct. Stay away from reasoning that you want to switch units. Your switch then drives the assignment guy to find someone to fill your spot when it goes unfilled. Let the installation strength management work that with Division G1.
