A Stiner Aid is used to mark an Assembly Area on a Drop Zone. 82nd ASOP calls for them, but they are not in supply system. Who has dimensions so I can make them? Or where can I get them made?

Can't help you on that one, we assembled either at grid coord. or terrain feature.

I can't find direct dimensions, but according to FM 90-26:
The Stiner aid has a cloth panel with a colored letter; that is, HHC = White "H". They are the same color for night use. (Figure 4-9.) It has pockets for 15-inch chemical lights; the letter and pockets are on both sides. It is mounted on a sectional aluminum pole that fits into an M1950 weapons case.

Near as I can tell, the Steiner aid doesn't have mandatory dimensions. As I read this, it sounds like whatever works for the unit/mission is fine...

I have the ASOP, just hard to believe the 82nd is going to let the units do their own thing, that goes against everything else they do.

February 16, 1945 was the beginning of one of the most unusual airborne operations in the Southwest Pacific area during World War II. Because of Corrigedor's fortifications, the joint commander was determined that more than just an amphibious assault was necessary. The plan called for an intense air and naval bombardment of the island, followed by an airborne assault to neutralize the fortifications and facilitate the amphibious landing.

COL Jean (John) F. B. - When I was in 2/325 and the 501.. we took the "fits in the M1950 weapons case" to infer the size of the aid... the pole sections were sized to fit the case and the flag section was made of a square design with height and width the same as a pole section.
