So what are the officials colors allowed to be used on DA forms? So me and several where having a discussion of sorts and I said you could use black or blue ink for official forms. I'm right or wrong?

SSG(P) (Join to see) Big deal! Go BLACK, be safe!
I continue seeing requirements for ‘black’ ink only. Black only makes no sense to me, so what! I always try to avoid problems!

Black or Blue is authorized...however...I have seen VERY FEW forms in blue ink. I had a Commander that would require the entire document in black ink - but would sign in blue ink and then scan to PDF (one of his quirks, I suppose).

Go black I had a soldier do one in blue and after 4 months it was returned with the note - BLACK INK ONLY - made him miss his ANCOC (read Senior Leaders Course! class.

Most DA Forms are CAC signed now, and have been for years, even those that require a "wet" signature (DA 1687) use a CAC signature with a pdf picture of an ink signature.

In all the regulations and instructions that I have read state blue, blue-black, or black. Many supply forms require pencil entries until the transaction is fully completed.

If memory serves, the Reg say black or blue-black. Though I haven't seen blue-black ink in years.
