what are the options available at MEPS as a prior 88M?

You will only know what other MOS options there are when you go thru MEPS and see the Career Counselor. This will happen if you are not specifically choosing an MOS prior to MEPS. As for Airborne, they may very well ask you if you want to go Airborne, and you will fill out a "Dream Sheet" of assignments you want...but then hope and pray you actually get one of those. When I went Active Duty back in '96, I wanted to stay a Medic. I ended up a 12B. As for assignments, I put Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, and Germany. I was sent to Ft Irwin, CA.

You won’t know until you go to meps, if there’s an opening for 88m then they will assign you to that, or they will put you in a combat arms mos such as infantry combat engineer tanker because the army always needs more of those.
