What are the pros and cons of reclassing as a SSG?

The pros I guess would be career progression as well as broaden your army knowledge but the cons would be not being up to par on the technical aspect of your new job. Most of your peers and as well as subordinates would be way ahead of you at your new job but you can still be an effective leader as you try to play catch up. It's sort of the same thing new LTs go through.
