Can any 92F out there give me any insight on the MOS. I'm looking to transfer to a QM company and my secondary MOS is 92Y but they asked me if I was willing to reclass to 92F. Before I commit I would like as much info on the MOS as I can get, any I go would help. Thank you.

I honestly wouldn't do it. Career progression is not easy for a 92F. Since you're already an E6, you'd have to look at the career progression map and see whats best for you. More than likely you'll be a section sgt or platoon sgt in some cases. You'll be running FARP's, Bag farms (if any), you'll be responsible for fuel accountability, you'll be doing back to back to back gunneries and missions if you happen to go to aviation. They say aviation is nice but don't let them fool you. You'd want to do the recruiting, drill, sharp, EO and all that jazz to get E7 or wait 10+ years to make it. E7's typically do plt sgt time and then you may get SPO. That's usually a brigade level job.

Shoot, I’m in Fort Lee right now and most of the intructors are SSgts, and a big number of SFCs you’ll see here are either platoon Sgts or team leaders. I was recommended for a SFC to try and get commissioned, but that if I was looking to make a career as an enlisted 92F that I would benefit from going to specialty schools like airborne, air assault, ranger

Is there a way for a 92f to become a prison guard or military police in the army? Also I graduate with my bachelor's in criminal justice in June how does that mean I can go for jobs such as biomedical and criminal investigations in the army?

That would depend on the company, I have known 92F's who have done nothing but run a fuel truck, I have known 92F's who have never run a fuel truck after AIT. The 92F MOS covers everything from pipeline, I believe most of those units are in the reserves, to Bag farm, to fuel truck. Bag farm can be setting up the system, to running it, moving fuel in and out of the system, a small bag system could be just a fuel point, you have it trucked in off load, and customer, tanks, trucks, fuel tankers etc come and pick up from you. You will learn the various pumps, some about head pressure and how far up a hill that pump can push fuel. How to strap a fuel tank, how to strap a bag for fuel level, how to recirculate fuel thru the filter separator. How to operate tanker etc. But what you do may only be that one thing. I know when I was inspecting in Afghanistan, the unit at an aviation refueling point would only have one 92F and the rest of his team would be soldiers who they assigned to him to teach how to do the job. I could go on but that would be allot of typing.

If it's a pipe line unit.. donttttt do it.. pipeline is horrible.. aviation is the only way to go as a fueler.. other wise run and hide from that position lol
