Many Soldiers are not aware that their Regiment (for example the Signal Regiment) has an awards process in place. Signaleers can be awarded the Bronze Order of Mercury for especially distinct service, as long as they are members of their Regimental Association and are recommended by a member in good standing. What are you doing in your Regiment to promote the Regiment and to recognize outstanding Soldiers?

Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery have the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara.

I believe the infantry, Armor have Saint George and Saint Christopher and there is a Saint Maurice medal also

As stated, I recommended my supply NCO in addition to my 1SG for the National Infantry Association (http://www.infantryassn.com/pages/awards.html) Order of Saint Maurice.  Both were very easy and relatively painless… easier than recommending a Soldier for an ARCOM or MSM in some cases...

It's a shame there wasn't more response to this. Over here at Fort Lee, the Regimental awards are actually very popular and well known, but other than here, I'd agree that very few people are aware of them, or of the process needed to have them awarded. That's a shame, because it's actually not terribly complicated.

I mentioned it to some fellow leaders, and didn't see many responding at first. Once I successfully nominated a few Soldiers for our Regiment's award, though, we've had a lot more NCOs and officers involved.

well typically Regimental awards are pretty much reserved for senior officers and NCOs. I wouldn't expect a whole lot of junior officers and soldiers to know about them.
