As a 19 year old "kid" in Vietnam . . . I grew up, and fast! To this day, having survived Vietnam, losing a child, a somewhat ugly divorce, and a loved one's stroke, I feel that I can (and do) handle anything that's thrown at me.

Life does throw some very ugly curves! And the tough ones usually seem to overcome them like yourself! As I said those like you are the real heroes!! Thanks for your service and have a great Turkey day tomorrow!

The ability to say to any situation, "I can do this" instead of wondering if I could do it. That is the difference between being successful or failing; the confidence to believe in yourself.

Thankful for the great Drill Sergeants, Commanders, AIT Platoon Sergeants and other great leaders I've had who helped instill pride in what we do. I'm thankful for the uniqueness of the duty and the [abstract] stability received.

SGT Dani W. - Maybe we are related. I grew up in Manhattan NYC; born in 43, obviously a few weeks older than you. I did 23 years(about) Navy, live in Melbourne Fl.

CPO Arthur Weinberger it's not impossible but probably not.

My Weinberger family is from Hungry a bit down the line, I forget which borough of NYC they lived a lot in and some Hurley, NY. Connections to M+E if that means anything (probably not).

Have a good one!
